Answer first
The main route through Big Walk is not a single fixed sequence. Clear the Beach and Drawbridge gate, complete the Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow Tower facility chains, then use the Black Tower's six-slot objective and final key to reach the Black Sphere. Completing the final cooperative area triggers the credits and main ending. The four colored towers are required, but their internal order and the individual puzzles used to earn rewards can vary.
You do not need to clear every puzzle on the island to reach the main ending.
Quick facts
| Item | Answer |
|---|---|
| Is there one fixed tower order? | No. All four colored tower facilities are required, but at least Blue and Green can be completed in either order. |
| Best first colored tower | Red is recommended first because it opens the Map Room; this is route advice, not a forced first step. |
| Colored tower requirement | Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow each use five reward slots before their key-and-facility sequence. |
| Final tower requirement | The Black Tower/monolith uses six reward slots before releasing the final key. |
| Must every island puzzle be completed? | No. Completed routes have reached the main ending with puzzles or rewards still unfinished. |
| Does player count affect objectives? | The host selects a 2-player, 3-player, or 4+ world version, and some objectives adjust to that choice. |
Spoiler-free mainline checklist
This checklist reveals progression gates but not individual puzzle answers or the ending scene.
- Learn the controls and leave the tutorial area.
- Clear the Beach access gate and cross the Drawbridge to the larger island.
- Complete all four colored tower facility chains: Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow. Choose the order that suits your current location and available rewards.
- Return to the Black Tower/monolith after all four colored facilities are active.
- Fill its six reward slots, complete the final key route, and enter the endgame area.
- Solve the cooperative objectives generated for your group's world version to reach the credits.
How this walkthrough labels progression
| Label | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Required Gate | A checkpoint needed to reach the main ending. |
| Recommended Route | A practical order that improves navigation or travel, but is not the only correct order. |
| Optional Puzzle | A puzzle or reward beyond the active slot requirements, or one choice among several possible reward sources. |
Stronger hints
Stop here if the checklist gave you enough direction. The table below names what each major facility unlocks, but still leaves individual puzzle solutions hidden.
| Stage | Label | Stronger hint |
|---|---|---|
| Tutorial | Required Gate | Use the practice area to learn movement, sitting, arm actions, and interaction, then follow the exit into the early island area. |
| Beach / Drawbridge | Required Gate | Find the key tied to the bridge, lower the Drawbridge, and cross it to reach the larger island. |
| Red Tower / Map Room | Required Gate | Fill five slots, collect and shape the released key, then open the Map Room. Use the Red Tower guide and Map guide for the focused solution. |
| Colored-tower order | Recommended Route | Start with Red if your group wants the Map Room early, then choose Blue or Green based on your position and available rewards. Save Yellow for later if that route is convenient. |
| Blue Tower / Trains | Required Gate | Five rewards release the Blue key; its completed key route starts the three-train loop. The full activation steps belong in the Train guide. |
| Green Tower / Chairlift | Required Gate | Fill five slots, take the key through its cutter route, and use it to activate the Chairlift/Gondola. |
| Yellow Tower / Tunnels | Required Gate | Fill five slots, shape the released key, and use it to open the Tunnels. |
| Black Tower / monolith | Required Gate | It becomes the final progression point after all four colored tower facilities are complete. Its console has six slots. |
| Extra island puzzles | Optional Puzzle | The ending does not require a full-map clear. Solve enough suitable puzzles to meet the active tower or final six-slot requirement. |
| Black Sphere | Required Gate | Expect cooperative room objectives that can vary with the selected 2-player, 3-player, or 4+ world version. Observe first, assign roles, and synchronize; do not rely on a button count or standing plan copied from another group size. |
Recommended route
This is a reproducible route, not the only valid progression order.
- Clear the tutorial and Drawbridge gate.
- Complete Red Tower early to open the Map Room.
- Choose Blue Tower or Green Tower next according to which is closer to your current rewards. Their Train and Chairlift unlocks both improve travel, and these two towers can be completed in either order.
- Complete whichever of Blue or Green remains.
- Complete Yellow Tower and open the Tunnels.
- Check the Black Tower/monolith after all four colored facilities are active.
- Fill its six slots with rewards the console accepts, take the final key through the indicated cutter/arrow route, and open the path toward the Black Sphere.
- Enter the Black Sphere and solve the final cooperative area for your selected world version.
Optional puzzle planning
Do not treat five nearby puzzles as the permanent ownership list for a tower. The requirement is the number of filled slots, and the puzzle choices used to fill them can vary. Extra puzzles and rewards beyond the tower and final six-slot gates are cleanup rather than mainline requirements.
When one puzzle is slowing the group down, switch to another available reward source and return later. For focused help, use the 4166 / 1899 puzzle guide or Microphone Puzzle guide. Those pages own their complete solutions; their inclusion here does not mean either puzzle is universally mandatory.
Full route and ending spoiler
Reveal the full progression route and ending details
Full progression and ending spoiler: The route below names every main gate through the credits. It deliberately does not hardcode the Black Sphere's buttons, standing positions, or role counts because those objectives vary with the selected world version.
1. Leave the tutorial
The opening practice area teaches running, jumping, crouching, sitting, arm actions, and interaction. Practice whatever your group needs, then leave the tutorial and move into the Beach stage.
2. Lower and cross the Drawbridge
The Beach key and Drawbridge form the gate into the larger island. Obtain the bridge key, lower the Drawbridge, and cross it.
3. Complete the four colored facilities
All four facility chains are required, but they are not one locked color sequence:
- Red Tower: Fill five slots, take the released key through its shaping route, and open the Map Room. Keep the full cutter instructions on the Red Tower page and navigation details on the Map page.
- Blue Tower: Fill five slots, shape the key, and use it to start the three-train loop. See the Train page for the complete activation chain.
- Green Tower: Fill five slots, shape the key, and activate the Chairlift/Gondola.
- Yellow Tower: Fill five slots, shape the key, and open the Tunnels.
Completed routes include Red → Green → Blue → Yellow and Red → Blue → Green → Yellow. Blue and Green can therefore trade places, but neither example is the only correct full order.
4. Open the Black Tower/monolith objective
After the Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow facilities are complete, the Black Tower/monolith becomes the final island progression point. Its console has six reward slots.
5. Fill six slots and complete the final key route
Continue solving available island puzzles until the Black Tower console has accepted six rewards. Follow the console's visible feedback instead of relying on a fixed reward-color formula.
When all six slots are filled, collect the final key. Follow the indicated cutters and arrows to shape it, use it to open the next door, and continue to the Black Sphere.
6. Complete the Black Sphere
Enter the white final cooperative area and solve the objectives generated for your world version. Use a version-safe approach:
- Pause at each room and identify the active symbols, mechanisms, or positions.
- Assign one role per visible requirement rather than copying roles from a different player count.
- Use gestures and agreed signals as a backup when voice coordination becomes difficult.
- Synchronize the required actions, then reassess the next room from scratch.
Completing the final cooperative area triggers the credits and the main ending.
Common mistakes and fixes
| Problem | What to check |
|---|---|
| You are following a colored-tower order from a video exactly | Treat it as one route. All four facilities matter, but at least Blue and Green can swap. |
| A colored tower will not release its key | Confirm that all five of that tower's reward slots are filled. |
| The Black Tower is not ready | Complete all four colored tower facilities before treating the monolith as the next main gate. |
| The Black Tower key has not appeared | Its final console has six slots; check that the console has accepted six rewards. |
| You are trying to clear every puzzle before the ending | A full-map clear is not required for the main ending. Prioritize the active slot gates. |
| A Black Sphere video shows different buttons or positions | Check whether it used the same 2-player, 3-player, or 4+ world version. Re-read the room instead of copying a fixed layout. |
Frequently asked questions
What order should I complete the towers in?
There is no single fixed order after the Drawbridge. A practical route is Red first for the Map Room, then Blue and Green in either order, followed by Yellow. All four colored facilities must be complete before the Black Tower becomes the final progression point.
Do I need to complete every puzzle in Big Walk?
No. Completed routes have reached the main ending without clearing every puzzle or collecting every remaining reward. Complete enough suitable puzzles to fill the four colored towers and the Black Tower's six slots.
How many rewards does each tower need?
Each colored tower—Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow—has five reward slots. The Black Tower/monolith has six.
Why did the Black Tower not open after one colored tower?
It is the post-tower progression point. Complete the facilities tied to all four colored towers before returning to it.
Does the Black Sphere have one solution for every group size?
Do not assume so. The host selects a 2-player, 3-player, or 4+ world version, and objectives can adjust to that selection. Use the room's visible requirements rather than fixed button numbers or standing positions from another version.
